The Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the work and asked officials to speed up construction. He said that efforts are being made to complete the bridge by December this year or January next year. Once opened, vehicles will be able to travel between Guwahati and North Guwahati easily, even if the trumpet junction is not ready by then.

CM Sarma added that until the trumpet junction is finished, vehicles can use the route through IIT Guwahati and GNRC to reach the National Highway. The trumpet is expected to be completed by May or June next year, after which traffic will be smoother and more direct.

Senior officials, including PWD (Roads) Special Commissioner Bibhuti Saikia and Kamrup DC Deba Kumar Mishra, accompanied the Chief Minister during his visit.

The new bridge and the junction are part of a larger plan to improve connectivity and reduce travel time between the two sides of the city.
