PM Modi To Meet With Covid-19 Vaccine Makers

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will meet 7 vaccine manufacturers on Saturday in the wake of the country crossing 1 billion vaccine doses.

Representatives from vaccine makers- Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Zydus Cadila, Biological E, Genova Biopharma and Panacea Biotech, will meet the PM as reported by Press Trust of India.

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Union Minister of State for Health, Bharati Pravin Pawar will also be present in the meeting along with the PM. PM Modi will likely stress on ways to vaccinate every eligible person in India, as soon as possible. He is also likely to emphasize on helping other countries in their vaccination drives under 'vaccine for all' mantra, according to an official source who told PTI.

India achieved the landmark 1 billion (100 crore) Covid-19 vaccine shots on October 21. Currently, the administered doses count stands at 101.30 crore, according to health ministry update. More than 75% of India's adult population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, while over 31% of the country's 93 crore eligible adults have taken both the doses.
