‘Gully Boy’ Is India’s Official Entry for Oscars

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starer 'Gully Boy' has been selected as India's official entry for the 92nd Oscar Awards in the Best International Feature Film category by the Film Federation of India. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, the film displayed Murad's journey from the slums of Dharavi to the center stage of rap.

The film was written by Zoya Akthar and Reema Kagti and produced by Tiger Baby and Excel Entertainment. Gully Boy was released on 14 February.

Itmay be mentioned here that Rima Das directed 'Village Rockstars' was selectedas India's entry to the 91st Oscars last year.

Also, only three Indian films, namely, Mother India (1957), Salaam Bombay (1988) and Lagaan (2001) have been nominated for the Oscars in the Foreign Language Film category over the years, but there have been no wins yet.
