A team of police officials from Moradabad in Uttar Pradeshon Thursday visited Sonakshi Sinha's Mumbai residence in connection to acheating case filed against her in 2018.

Last year an event organizer had accused the 'Dabangg'actress of not turning up for an event in New Delhi at the very last momentafter accepting a booking amount of Rs 24 lakh.

An FIR under the section of cheating is registered in UttarPradesh Moradabad.

UP police sleuths assisted by Juhu police officials reachedSonakshi's house on Thursday to record her statement regarding the case.However, Sonakshi was not present when police arrived.

Police left after waiting for a few hours.

It may be mentioned here that the cops are likely to visitthe actor's home again.

Meanwhile, Sinha's spokesperson has refuted the allegationsand has said that it is all done to malign her image.

"In her nine-year-long career, she has only worked withcomplete honesty and sincerity. What this man is accusing her of is completelyuntrue and baseless. This is just a way of extortion by maligning her spot-freereputation in the press and it is not something that Sonakshi and her team willsuccumb to. She is a thorough professional and we have been more thancooperative with whichever authorities that have gotten in touch with usbecause we have nothing to hide," the spokesperson added.
