Sonali Bendre diagnosed with ‘high-grade cancer’, determined to fight every step of the way

Bollywood star Sonali Bendre Behl has revealed that she has been diagnosed with a "high grade cancer" and is undergoing treatment in New York under the guidance of her doctors.

The 43-year old actor took to Instagram and twitter on Wednesday to share the news with her followers and assured them that she is "determined to fight every step of the way".

"A niggling pain led to some tests, which led to this unexpected diagnosis. My family and close friends have rallied around me, providing the best support system that anyone can ask for. I am very blessed and thankful for each of them," Bendre said in the emotional post.

Bendre had recently left her judging chair at reality TV show "India's best Dramebaaz" and has been replaced by Huma Qureshi.

Although the nature and type of cancer is unknown, the actor said she is "taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me."
