Veteran filmmaker J Om Prakash no more

Veteran filmmaker J Om Prakash, who is Hrithik Roshan's maternal grandfather expired this morning in Mumbai at the age of 93.

Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan mourned his demise and took to Twitter to express his condolences.

The funeral was held this afternoon, where Hrithik Roshan was witnessed performing the last rites along with his father Rakesh Roshan.

J Om Prakash is best known for his films such as Aap Ki Kasam (1974), Aakhir Kyon? (1985), Arpan (1983), Apna Bana Lo (1982), Aasha (1980) and Apnapan (1977), Aadmi Khilona Hai (1993).

The veteran filmmaker's directional debut, Aap Ki Kasam, starred Rajesh Khanna, which is famous for its music even today – Jai, Jai Shiv Shankar and Zindagi Ke Safar – composed by RD Burman.

As a producer, J Om Prakash had his name curved in golden letters due to films such as Aya Sawan Jhoom Ke (1969), Ayee Milan Ki Bela (1964), Aaye Din Bahar Ke (1966) and Aankhon Aankhon Mein (1972).

It may be noted that J Om Prakash also served as the President of the Film Federation of India from 1995-1996.
