Guwahati: 13 Bir Lachit Sena Members Detained For ‘Hooliganism’

Guwahati police on Sunday detained 13 members of Bir Lachit Sena after they forced two non-Assamese youths to kneel down before them.

As per a report, all 13 of them were later granted bail and were given a notice under section 41 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

On Saturday, an indigenous Assamese youth was allegedly beaten up by two non-Assamese youths for asking for petrol at a depot in Guwahati's Kahilipara area.

Later, the members of Bir Lachit Sena surrounded the depot and forced both the non-Assamese youths to kneel down and apologize before the public.

A team of police then reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
