As per reports, the man identified as one Jalaluddin entered the house of the minor with an aim to rape her.
However, the girl raised an alarm and locals rushed to the spot and caught hold of the man.
The locals then tied the man up and thrashed him for allegedly trying to rape the minor girl.
Later, he was handed over to Jalukbari police station.
