In a positive development amidst the fears generated by COVID-19, the trials of the vaccine developed at the Oxford University may reportedly soon begin in India.

A report by NDTV quoted Adar Poonawalla, Chief of the Serum Institute of India, the world's largest vaccine manufacturer which is partnering with the researchers at Oxford, as saying, "The trials have shown promising results and we are extremely happy about it."

Poonawalla further said, "We will be applying for the licensure trials to the Indian regulator in a week's time. As soon as they grant us permission, we will begin with the trials for the vaccine in India. In addition, we will soon start manufacturing the vaccine in large volumes."

The researchers working on the vaccine have meanwhile reportedly vouched for the virus by saying that it didn't cause any major side effects.

They added that some of the minor side-effects caused by the virus could be taken care of by taking paracetamol.
