1 dead, 3 injured in Uriamghat robbery

Highway robbers trapped a group of workers before critically injuring them and looting cash worth Rs 50,000. The incident occurred at Uriamghat near Assam-Nagaland border.

As per reports, the workers were returning to 1 no Pithaghat from Uriamghat, when the robbers trapped in an isolated place. The robbers attacked them with weapons and tossed them on the nearby field before fleeing away with the Rs 50,000 in cash.

Local resident found the seriously injured workers on the road and took them to the nearby Sarupathar civil hospital, where they were given initial medical aid. However, one of them had died in hospital.

Getting information about the incident senior police official rushed to the spot along with police force and made arrangements to shift the injured workers for necessary treatment. Police have registered a case against unknown persons and attempts are on to trace them.
