10 COVID-19 + Mothers Successfully Give Birth to Babies at GMCH

Amid this hour of crisis, ten COVID-19 positive mothers gave birth to 4 baby girls and 6 boys at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The birth of the ten babies amid the coronavirus pandemic has brought smiles to the faces of the doctors and nurses who performed the caesarian section of the mothers and successfully gave birth to their babies.

The state health and family welfare minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet congratulated the mothers and the doctors' team at GMCH. "At times, we get opportunity to smile amid adversity too! We've such an occasion, second day in a row. Ten #COVID19+ braveheart mothers have given birth to 4 baby girls and 6 boys. Congratulations to the families," he tweeted. 

"Kudos to O&G team of GMCH for performing cesarean sections," the minister tweeted.
