12 kg Ganja seized in Kamrup Express, one arrested

The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Saturday  morning recovered 12 kg ganja from 15960 Down Kamrup Express Train, Coach no -B/2, seat no -23 during an search operation.

The recovered ganja is worth Rs 80,000 approximately, informed officials.

The Railway police have apprehended one person named Dinesh Jadav of Uttar Pradesh in connection with the illegal possession. Jadav relevealed that  he boarded  the Train at Dimapur Railway Station for Vardhman Railway Station. Based on a secret tip-off, the peddler had been caught red handed by the GRP.

After this recovery, the whole train was searched by the GRP but no more ganja were found.

Similar incident occurred few days back when GRP  detained one with more than 20 kilograms of ganja valued several lakhs of rupees from platform No. 1 of Guwahati Railway Station allegedly for carrying illicit drugs.
