15 held in Demow mob attack

In a big breakthrough, the Assam police have arrested fifteen accused in Demow mob attack.

A man was brutally beaten to death after a murder had taken place at Demow's Dikhari tea garden on Friday.

The accused identified as Rama Chundi, Bikram Praja, Junu Chundi, Suraj Praja, Ajay Panika, Ranjan Tanti, Balok Chundi, Puna Chundi, Prem Chundi, Pabitra Chundi, Debaru Praja, Maluka Praja, Birbal Chundi and Badal Chundi.

Reportedly, a couple was murdered by a culprit namely Jaggu Praja at Demow's Dikhari tea garden in Sivasagar district on the eve of Thursday.

After committing the murder, the accused murderer fled to avoid being caught by the police.

After the incident, angry mob attacked the house of the murderer's family; where Puron Praja, the brother of murderer Jaggu Praja had died.
