Bomb blast rocked Jamugurihat on Sunday morning ahead of Independence Day leaving two injured. The bomb was placed in the garbage dump at 1 No Batmari in Jamugurihat of Sonitpur district.

Twovillage guard secretary sustained injuries at face and stomach in the blast.

Thegarbage dump catches fire after the blast which was later brought to control bythe fire tenders.

Localsalleged that miscreants placed the bomb to create untoward incident ahead ofIndependence Day.

Thehigher officials of police also rushed to the spot after being informed.
