Karbi Anglong lynching – AASU mourns incident as black day at felicitation ceremony

Pratidin Bureau

As the state still mourns the death of two youths from Guwahati at the hands of a barbaric mob in Karbi Anglong, All Assam Students Union (AASU) marked today as a Black Day.

On the occasion of felicitating successful candidates of HSLC, HS, High Madrassa and UPSC exams at District Library in Guwahati, AASU members were seen wearing a black badge to mourn the brutal death of Abhijeet Nath and Nilotpal Das.

Most of the candidates present at the felicitation ceremony were also seen wearing black badges.

AASU advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya said on the occasion, "Murderers and criminals, no matter what tribe, religion, caste or culture they belong to, will always be criminals and murderers. Government will have to provide justice in this."

Slamming the Government, the AASU advisor said that the government has failed in curbing this fake news on child traffickers and witch hunting. The government should take steps to provide proper knowledge and make people aware of the evils that are resulting in loss of innocent lives.
