32nd Guwahati Book Fair begins in city

The 32nd Guwahati Book Fair has been officially inaugurated in the city on Saturday. Assam CM Sarbananda Sonowal has inaugurated the book fair at Assam Engineering Institute Playground, Chandmari.

The book fair will be held till 2nd January, at the AEI Playground. More than 70 book shops and publishing houses will take part in the book fair this time; and at least 15 book shops from other States outside Assam, including that of Delhi, Kolkata and Jharkhand will take part in the fair.

Meanwhile, renowned litterateur Dr Nagen Saikia would be conferred the Publication Board, Assam's prestigious lifetime achievement award for his contributions in the field of Assamese literature.
