70 kg cannabis seized, four detained

The Government Railway Police (GRP) on Tuesday  morning recovered 14 packets of cannabis weighing 70 kg from Train No 20501 Agartala – Anand Vihar Rajdhani Express Train in Coach No. A 1/ and seat no 38, 40 & 42 during a search operation.

The recovered ganja is worth more than 80 lakh in black market, as per reports.

The Railway police have apprehended four people named Md. Prabir Alam, Rushi Begum of Tripura, Md. Ashraful Alam of Karimgunj and  Sumit Mishra of Uttar Pradesh in connection with the illegal possession.

Based on a secret tip-off, the peddlers were caught red handed by the GRP.

After this recovery, the whole train was searched by the GRP but no more ganja were found.
