Opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, the All Assam Journalists Union (AAJU) staged a protest in front of  Raj Bhawan in Guwahati on Tuesday.

Along with many journalists, Senior Journalist of Assam Prakash Mahanta took part in the protest.

The protesters opposed the centers decision of implementing the bill and demanded withdrawal its.

It is to be mentioned that the intensity of the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2016 has increased after the  Bill was passed at the Lok Sabha and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  led center is eyeing to pass it at the Rajya Sabha as well in the upcoming session.
