AASU calls statewide road blockade Tomorrow

Pratidin Bureau

All Assam Students' Union (AASU) to stage a statewide road blockade on Tuesday (12 noon to 1 pm), the call for the road blockade comes a day after the attack over AASU activists at Nalbari.

AASU Chief Advisor Dr Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya on Monday in a statement has announced their decision to hold the statewide road blockade in protest against the unfortunate incident.

Reportedly, Nalbari AASU waved black flags at Assam Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at Ghograpar under Nalbari district on Sunday to protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. Following this, BJP workers engaged in a clash with the members of AASU.

AASU and other state organizations condemned the incident and said that the incident was a wake-up call for the indigenous people of Assam against external aggression. State organizations called upon all indigenous communities of Assam to be united against the forces that are potential threat to the existence of the sons of the soil.
