‘AASU not involved in Tinsukia incident’

Pratidin Bureau

The president of All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Dipanka Kumar Nath claimed that members of the students' organisations were not involved in the attack of RSS and BJP workers in Tinsukia.

Addressing a press conference on Wednesday evening, Nath said, "There is a conspiracy behind the whole incident," and added that some miscreants were continuously trying to mislead AASU's opposition to the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

Dipanka Nath also asked AASU workers to control their emotion and to take part in the ongoing protest with non-violence.

Earlier today, the BJP district president Lakheshwar Moran was attacked by angry mob when the protesters clashed with the RSS groups, who had tried to arrange a meeting supporting CAB.
