The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) is going to confer the Pratima Pandey Memorial Award, 2018 to Binod Khanal of Biswanath, for preserving and promoting folk culture of the State. AASU informed that the award would be given away to Das at a function at Chandmari in Guwahati on December 27.

The award instituted by the AASU carries citation, memento and cash award of Rs. 25,000.

Pratima Pandey award was instituted by AASU in 2007 and is given every year to exponents of folk culture of Assam on the death anniversary of the iconic singer, who took Goalparia Lokageet to world arena.
