The Assam Agricultural University (AAU) has suspended senior professor Jyoti Gogoi (Department of Economics and Farm Management) following allegations of sexual harassment levelled against him by a girl student, officials said.

A student of the university has complained against the 63-year-old professor of the university accusing him of sexual harassment.

The student of the College of Agriculture, AAU, lodged acomplaint with the sexual harassment committee of the university against seniorprofessor Jyoti Gogoi of sexually harassing her.

According to an AAU source, the student seeking admission toa PG programme, has alleged in her complaint that on Friday when she had goneto the cabin of professor Gogoi,   theprofessor had sexually harassed her.
