AGP leader’s car seized with money & liquor

The  police today seized  Rs 1.5 lakh cash and  5 boxes of liquor from the car belonging to the brother of the AGP candidate Keshab Mahanta today.

The car belonged to Kanu Mahanta, who is the brother of Keshab Mahanta.

The incident took place at Salana tea garden near Nagaon  near the Karbi Anglong hills. The police suspected that money and liquor were taken to distribute amongst the tea garden  voters.

The Congress today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission observer of Koliabor Lok Sabha constituency about the incidents  adding that lakhs of rupees were used in the electioneering.

In Kaliabor Lok Sabha constiuency, Moni Madhab Mahanta is pitted against Congress's Gaurav Gogoi.
