Ajai Lamba Appointed as Chief Justice of GHC

Justice Ajai Lamba has been appointedas the Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court (GHC) on Saturday. Lamba served asthe Judge of Allahabad High Court, Punjab and Haryana High Court.

Lamba, who was born on September 21,1958 graduated in English Honours from Government College, Chandigarh andcompleted LLB course from Punjab University.

He wasenrolled as an Advocate in 1981. Lamba practiced law on civil, criminal andrevenue side as well as cases relating to Labour Law, Company Law, Service Lawand The Constitution of India.

He was then elevated as Judge ofPunjab and Haryana High Court on 22 March 2006. Justice Lamba was transferredto Allahabad High Court on 9 December 2011 and elevated as Chief Justice ofGauhati High Court on October 5, 2019.
