Akhil attacks BJP over unemployment issue

KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi on Saturday compared the coming Lok Sabha Election to that of the general election of 1977. "This is the election to save the Constitution and to preserve democratic institutions of the country," said Gogoi.

While speaking at the National Youth Conclave in Guwahati, Gogoi questioned the Modi government as to why it has spent less amount of money in the education sector in comparison to the previous government. "The unemployment rate in the country has increased from 2.2 percent in 2011 to 7.2 percent in 2019," said Gogoi adding, "The demonetization move by the government has left around 1 crore 27 lakh people jobless."

Attacking the government, Gogoi further said that the country has moved backward in terms of economy, education, employment during Modi regime. There are approximately 60 lakhs government posts lying vacant in various departments and Gogoi asked the government to appoint the educated youths in those posts.
