Akhil takes jibe at Himanta

Pratidin Bureau

For the past few months, Assam has been simmering with tension over the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill 2016, BJP's trump card of inciting communalism also seems to be failing in Assam, again on Friday, KMSS chief Akhil Gogoi took a jibe at minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

"Himanta disgraced Nitumoni Saikia and Ajit Kumar Bhuyan; it's not a silly thing. People of Assam will take revenge on it in near future. We have decided to postpone the road-train blockade programme on January 27 due to examination. However, the protest will be staged in Tinsukia district only. It has become clear on Thursday that how much Himanta knows about the Indian constitution. Sarbananda is 'Lora Raja'. Himanta always utters lies to mislead or confuse the people of Assam. We will stage protest against the Citizenship Bill on January 28-29 during the coming assembly session." Gogoi said.

Akhil Gogoi's reaction comes a day after minister Himanta Biswa lambasted the two journalists of Assam, terming them as 'Milkman' (Gakhir khua manuh).
