Akshay Likely to be Next Assam Tourism Brand Ambassador

Bollywoodactor Akshay Kumar is likely to become the next Brand Ambassador of AssamTourism as Priyanka Chopra's contract with the department has expired.

AssamTourism Minister Chandan Brahma has also expressed his willingness to tieAkshay with Assam Tourism following the actor's generous effort to help theflood-affected people in Assam.

"We acknowledge the efforts made by the actor," said Brahma on Friday. He further said that the Assam government would "love" to tie Akshay as the brand ambassador of Assam Tourism. However, he maintained that there was no approach made by the tourism department regarding Akshay's appointment as a brand ambassador so far.

It may be mentioned here that Akshay Kumar has donated Rs. 1 crore for Assam flood victims and Rs. 1 crore for Kaziranga National Park. The actor has also sent out a strong message during the trailer launch of 'Mission Mangal', asking people to do something rather than tweeting about the floods in Assam.
