Alleged rape case against MoS Railways Rajen Gohain; no investigation yet

A rape case was filed against Union Minister for State for Railways Rajen Gohain by an unidentified lady at Nagaon, the hometown of the veteran BJP leader.

The case was registered at Nagaon Sadar police station on August 2 last. The cases are registered under IPC 471/376/506 and the case number is 2592/2018.

So far the police have not started any investigation in this regard. However, the railway minister's immediate reaction was not available.

The sensational allegation, veracity of which has not been independently verified, has sent political circle of Assam into a tizzy as for the first time an Union minister of Assam was alleged with such serious charges.
