Ambubachi Mela | Safety at stake in Kamakhya Temple

The Kamakhya Temple in the city bereft of any security measures ahead of Ambubachi Mela 2019, except the CCTV cameras.

Though funds are available to improve safety measures, thereis no move to install essential security devices including baggage scanners anddoor metal detectors on the temple premises.

When 'Pratidin Time' visited the temple on Friday after thehigh alert over ISIS Threat in the state, people were seen entering and exitingthe temple without having to go through any security checks.

Several passengers expressed their apprehension about thelack of proper security measures and demanded that the authorities takepermanent measures to prevent untoward incidents.
