Amit Shah arrives in Manipur to hold meeting with BJP leaders of Northeast

BJP President Amit Shah arrived in Imphal on Saturday to meet senior party leaders of the northeastern states to discuss BJP's preparation for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Manipur CM N Biren Singh received Shah at the airport and proceeded to a city hotel to start the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav and North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) convener Himanta Biswa Sarma and BJP NE in-charge Ajay Jamal.

Tripura CM Biplab Kumar Deb and party leaders of the state were the first ones to meet Shah.

BJP Manipur in-charge informed that the parliamentary group meeting shall discuss the party's organisational structures in each of the northeastern states, excluding Assam, for the 2019 elections.

Shah will leave for New Delhi on Sunday morning after meeting N Biren Singh and his council of ministers and MLAs.
