Amit Shah Holds Meetings on J&K, Northeast

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday held a series of detailed meetings on issues concerning Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast.

The Union Home Minister focussed on security and development initiatives in Jammu and Kashmri ahead of the Assembly elections, which is likely to take place in October-November later this year. He also discussed about the security issues concerning the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

Amit Shah emphasized to keep up pressure on terrorists and ensure an incident-free Assembly Elections and Amarnath Yatra.

Amit Shah also had detailed meeting on issues concerning northeast. The prime issue of the discussion was the completion of NRC exercise in Assam within the Supreme Court's deadline as the NRC exercise poses an immediate challenge for the ministry.

Satyendra Garg, Joint Secretary, Northeast, gave a detailed presentation about the issues in the northeastern states.
