Amit Shah reaches Guwahati

Union Home Minister Amit Shah landed in Guwahati on Sundayfor a two-day visit to the State. Upon his arrival, Assam Chief MinisterSarbananda Sonowal welcomed him at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi InternationalAirport.

Shah will attend the 68th Plenary Session of North Eastern Council (NEC) today at Khanapara in Guwahati. The Governors and the Chief Ministers of the eight State of Northeastern region will also attend the meeting of NEC.

The BJP president will also take part in the 4thConclave of North East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) on Monday. He is also likelyto chair separate meetings with CM Sarbananda Sonowal and ministers of theAssam government and the State BJP leadership.

It may be mentioned here that after publication of thefinal NRC, Amit Shah's visit to the State becomes really significant.
