Another blow to Assam Congress, Santiuse Kujur resigns

In another blow to the Congress party, former Rajya Sabha MP Santiuse Kujur has resigned from the party.

Kujur had held various positions in his career, which are:

  • 2008-2010: Member of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC)
  • 2010-2013: Executive Member of Bodoland Territorial Council
  • June 2013: Elected to the Rajya Sabha
  • August 2013 – August 2014: Member of Committee on Home Affairs Consultative Committee on Petroleum & Natural Gas,
  • September 2014 onward: Member of Committee on Information Technology, Member of Committee on Papers Laid on the Table, Consultative Committee for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Meanwhile, former Barak minister Gautam Roy also resigned from the party today and is likely to join BJP.

Lastevening, Bhubaneswar Kalita officially joined BJP in its party headquarters.
