The Assam Congress MPs on Friday staged a protest against the contentious Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in front of the Gandhi statue in the Parliament.

The Congress MPs from other Northeastern states and other opposition leaders have also participated in the protest raising slogans against the government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Staging theprotest the Congress MPs said that they will not accept CAB which will destroythe identity of the Assamese people.

They alsoraised slogans like 'Amit Shah Shame Shame', 'Narendra Modi Hai Hai' etc.
