APCC Stages Protest Against Privatization of NRL

The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has staged a protest at Numaligarh on Wednesday against the privatization of the Numaligarh Oil Refinery and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL).

The APCC stagedthe protest at Numaligarh Tiniali which was participated by Ripun Bora, formerChief Minister Tarun Gogoi and other senior leaders of the party.

Meanwhile,the NRL workers association also met Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Aftermeeting the minister, the association said that the minister had assured thatthe NRL would not be privatized. They said that the state government has ashare of 12.3 percent in the NRL and that the minister will also meet unionminister Dharmendra Pradhan to discuss the NRL issue.
