Oscar-winning music composer AR Rahman has been appointed as the Brand Ambassador of Sikkim government, said an official notification issued by Chief Secretary AK Srivastava.
The state government had earlier this year made AR Rahman the Brand Ambassador of tourism and business of Sikkim.
Rahman will promote and project the state's achievements nationally and globally, the notification further added.
It may be mentioned here that the state, with its natural and scenic beauty, is a tourism hot spot of Northeast India. It had also achieved the feat of being the first fully organic state of the country.
