Arunachal: Alleged NSCN-KYA Cadre Neutralised

An alleged NSCN-KYA cadre was neutralized in a joint operation launched on Saturday by the Assam Rifles and Arunachal Pradesh Police in Longding district of the state, official sources said.

The cadre was identified as one self-style 28-yearold Sgt Maj. Ganjon Pansa of Longkai village of Wakka circle.

Furthermore, items recovered from the spot are Lathode gun under registered number 241191, Gren Launcher 40 mm, three live Lathode Grenades, a Chinese Grenade, a .32 mm pistol under registered number 511 with magazine, one live RD of .32 mm, five Empty cases of .32 round, 15 empty cases of 7.62 mm AK rounds along with bags of clothes and groceries, the police sources said.

"Based on specific input, the security forces launched an operation along with police in general area Wakka. On being challenged, the firing was initiated by the insurgents to which own troops retaliated. In the ensuing firefight, security forces eliminated one insurgent, without damage to own troops or any civilians," the Indian Army said in an official statement.
