Arunachal School Students To Wear Khadi Face Masks

Pratidin Bureau

In a first, the Arunachal Pradesh government has decided to supply Khadi face masks to students who will be attending schools after it's reopening on November 16.

The Khadi face masks, which are being arranged by Khadi and Village Industries (KVIC), will be of tri-color design and aim to instill a sense of nationalism among the students. A total of 6,000 Khadi cotton face masks will be supplied by KVIC.

As per reports, KVIC has delivered the requisite masks to the government on an urgent basis after the order was placed on November 3 by the authorities.

KVIC has used double twisted Khadi fabric for manufacturing of these masks. The masks help retain 70% of the moisture content inside while providing an easy passage for the air to pass through. Khadi cotton face masks are washable, reusable and biodegradable.

Chairman of KVIC Shri Vinai Kumar Saxena said the supply of face masks was their top priority as it was meant for the students who will be joining schools from November 16.
