Ashmita Chaliha wins Senior Ranking Badminton C’ship

Assam's 19-year-old badminton prodigy Ashmita Chaliha, won the women's singles title at All India Senior Ranking Badminton Championship. She won the title on Saturday defeating Aakarshi Kashyap by 21-14, 21-10 in the final held in Bengaluru.

Earlier, Ashmita had won two international tournament, which includes Dubai International Challenge Title and Tata Open International Challenge Badminton Championship. Ashmita had participated in the Asian Games earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Badminton Association of India (BAI) president Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Ashmita on her victory.
