Assam 17th best state to do business in India: DIPP report

As per the third edition of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) Reforms Action Plan, 2017 in partnership with World Bank, Assam has been ranked as the 17th best state to do business in India.

Andhra Pradesh has topped the list as the best state to do business in the country followed by Telangana and Haryana.

It may be mentioned here that Assam has surged ahead by seven places to reach the 17th spot.

The rankings are based on a combination of "reform evidence score" and "feedback score".

Except for Assam, the other northeastern states are still placed towards the bottom of the index.
