Assam recorded new 2679 coronavirus cases out of 58531 tests conducted in the last 24 hours, taking the state's active cases tally to 16552.

Meanwhile, 1585 patients were discharged yesterday, while, 38809 patients have been cured and discharged so far.

The COVID-19 death toll has climbed to 132 with six more patients succumbing to the COVID-19 infection last evening. The positive cases have risen to 55496.
