Kerala Flood: Assam announces Rs 3 crore, help line opened

Assam government on Sunday announced immediate financial assistance of Rs 3 crore for flood hit Kerala.

The CM office (CMO) in a tweet on Sunday revealed the Assam government's decision to extend financial help to flood hit Kerala. "Sarbanandsonwal expressed grief at the loss of lives & large scale damage to property due to #KeralaFloods and announced Rs 3 crore financial assistance to the Govt of Kerala for rescue & relief operations", tweeted the CM office.

The current flood fury in Kerala is touted as one of the worst floods in last hundred years in the state. Near about 400 people in flood and rain related accident.

Prime Minister Modi after reviewing the flood situation in Kerala announced Rs 500 crore as an interim.

Modi also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh per person to the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to those seriously injured from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund, a Prime Minister's Office statement said.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi after reviewing the flood situation of Kerala announced Rs 500 crore to the state. Kerala has sought an immediate assistance of Rs 2,000 crore.

As per the initial estimate, the state has suffered a loss of Rs 20 K crore. The actual loss can be ascertained after the water recedes in the affected areas.
