The COVID-19 positivity rate in Assam has dramatically surged to 1.41 % on Sunday with 212 fresh cases logged in the last 24 hours.

The new cases were detected out of 15,060 tests. Only one COVID-10 fatality was reported today from Nagaon, while, 236 cured cases were discharged.

The districts with the highest cases were Kamrup Metro (96), Barpeta (26), Lakhimpur (18), and Jorhat (18).

The total recoveries of the state have touched 6,00,974 with a recovery rate of 98.42 per cent.

Meanwhile, Covid-related fatalities in the state have reached 5,997 with a death rate of 0.98 per cent.

The overall case tally of the state as of today remains 6,10,645.
