Assam crosses 10,000 mark active COVID-19 cases

Assam recorded 1457 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday, taking the total count of active cases to 10180.

Kamrup (M) reported 275 cases today while Dibrugarh touched 136 and Sonitpur is at 116.

The positivity rate continues to be low at 5.36%.  27161 COVID-19 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Furthermore, 1085 patients were discharged today and the total number of recoveries has reached 31442. Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma who holds the health portfolio said through Twitter, "Heartening to see that the number of recovered patients is thrice to that of active patients. Kudos, team doctors!"

The death toll stands at 101, while, the total positive cases to date have touched at 41726.
