Assam Flood | Death toll reaches 24

Though the flood situation in Assam has improved, death toll in the state has reached 24.

Two deaths has been reported from Cachar district and one from Karimganj district, taking the toll from 21 to 24.

It may be mentioned here that around 65 lakh people had been affected across five districts in the recent wave of floods that hit the state. Nearly, 40,000 people of the state are still taking shelter in relief camps.

Recently, a fresh wave of flood has hit Gogamukh in Dhemaji district.

The increasing levels of water have submerged more than 40 villages in the area. Water from Jiadhal-Kumotia and Nonoi has wreaked havoc on the villages
