Assam Floods: Massive Soil Erosion in Dhubri

Pratidin Bureau

The soil erosion caused by the Gaurang river at Bilasipara in Dhubri district continues unabated.

Around 30 families of Kathalodi 3rd Block Village have been rendered homeless by the rapid soil erosion.

Although the affected families are taking shelter at the office of the Hatiputa Village Panchayat, there have been rumblings of extreme displeasure and anxiety.

The victims have accused the local representatives of turning a blind eye to their cause. They haven't received any government aid so far, they said.
