Assam Governor swears in as Mizoram Governor

Assam Governor Jagdish Mukhi had been sworn-in as the Governor of Mizoram at the Raj Bhavan in Aizawl on Saturday after the former Governor of Mizoram Kummanam Rajasekharan resigned on Thursday.

Gauhati High Court judge, Justice Nelson Sailo administered the oath of office to Jagdish Mukhi.

President Ram Nath Kovind appointed Mukhi to take additional charge of Mizoram after accepting Rajasekharan's resignation.

The Governor would deliver his customary gubernatorial address in the Mizoram Assembly on the first day of the Budget session, that is on Tuesday.
