Assam: Heroin Worth Rs 85 Lakh Seized, 4 Held In Chaparmukh

Assam Police's Raha police force in a joint operation with the Anti Narcotic Squad of Nagaon police nabbed four drug peddlers at Chaparmukh railway station and recovered 120 gms of heroin worth Rs 85 lakhs from their possession on Wednesday.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the team launched a search operation at the station at 3 am today and arrested the drug peddlers.

The drug peddlers have been identified as Ainul Haque, Sitara Begum of Bher Bheri village under Bordua PS, Rosidul Haque of Dhonia Bheti village, Bordua PS, and Wadiqul Islam of Long Jup Podumoni village under Kachua PS, Nagaon.

Addressing the media the Nagaon Superintendent of Police Dhruba Bora stated that 120 grams of heroin packed in ten soap cases were kept hidden underneath the clothes of Sitara Begum. The kingpin of the group was Ainul Haque. All the accused had arrived in Raha from Dimapur by Ledo express.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
