Assam HSLC exam starts

The Assam High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination and High Madrassa examination under Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) has started from today. The examination is being held be held in 857 centers across the State.

Around 3,52,143 students are appearing for the HSLC examinations this year, informed SEBA. Highest 26,080 candidates are appearing in Nagaon district.

It is to be mentioned this is the first time barcodes have been used in the answer scripts of HSLC. Section 144 has also been imposed within 50 meters of the examination centers.

To prevent exam candidates from cheating using cellphones and other such devices, signal jammers are installed in sensitive exam halls across the State.

On the other hand, to encourage visually impaired students, SEBA has introduced question papers in Braille for the visually impaired students appearing in this year's 10th board examination. Candidates are allowed to use only black ink during the examination.
