Assam IGP Gets Smart Policing Award 2019

Inspector-General of Police, CID, Assam Surendra Kumar received the prestigious Smart Policing Award 2019 instituted by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry at a function held in New Delhi on Friday. He is also the Nodal Officer of Anti-Human Trafficking Units for Assam.

The award was presented by the Union Minister of State, Dr Jitendra Singh. A total of 196 entries were received from various law enforcement agencies for this year's FICCI Smart Policing Awards.

The Assam Police has been awarded the Special Jury Award, 2019 under the category –"Human Trafficking" for good work and best practices in this field. Kumar also received a certificate from FICCI as "Concerned Officer". Surendra Kumar received the prestigious award in recognition of commendable work done in the area of anti-human trafficking.
